Tow Truck Operator Hit and Killed by Car on Highway 101 in Sausalito
SAUSALITO (February 28, 2019) – A tow truck driver was killed after a traffic collision along Highway 101 Tuesday afternoon, according to CBS San Francisco.
The accident took place shortly before 2:30 p.m., north of Spencer Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said the incident began when a male tow truck driver was loading a black Prius onto the bed of the truck on southbound Highway 101.

At the same time, a silver colored Chevrolet pickup truck spun out of control for an unknown reason and then collided with the tow truck. The impact ultimately forced the Prius into the tow truck driver.
CHP affirmed that the tow truck operator was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the motorist in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries and was transported to Marin General Hospital for treatment. The female of the Prius, who was standing away from the vehicles when the crash occurred, was unharmed in the wreck.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
