Woman, 20, Suffers Devastating Injury, Loses Leg in Hit-and-Run
LOS ANGELES (March 22nd, 2019)
A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the hit-and-run driver who caused serious injuries to a 20-year-old college student on March 22 in southern Los Angeles.
Stephanie Vasquez suffered several fractures throughout her body and her right leg had to be amputated as a result of the accident. She was entering her parked car on Jefferson Boulevard just east of San Pedro Street when struck by a white SUV.
Suspect, Paulino Diego Pedro, Remains At-Large
The driver of the SUV has been identified as Paulino Diego Pedro, 30, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Pedro was spotted on surveillance video abandoning his vehicle two blocks away and running. He remains at large.
