2 Injured in San Diego Car Accident on 15 Freeway Near Carmel Mountain
SAN DIEGO (February 26, 2019) – Two were injured, one seriously, after an alleged DUI crash on the 15 Freeway in the Rancho Penasquitos area late Sunday, according to FOX 5 News.
The accident involving five vehicles was reported on February 24 shortly before midnight, south of Carmel Mountain Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a Hyundai sedan, a Volkswagen sedan, a Ford sedan, a Cadillac SUV and fifth car collided in the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to at least two people who were hurt as a result of the collision.

One patient suffered major injuries while the other sustained minor wounds upon impact. Both wounded parties were transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment.
The name of the victims and their condition at this time remained unknown. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Hyundai was believed to ahve been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck.
The suspect, whose identity was also not disclosed, was ultimately arrested on suspicion of DUI. The investigation is ongoing.
