Two teenage girls were injured in a hit-and-run crash on John Still Drive in Meadowview Wednesday night, April 17th.

Sacramento Police say the two 16-year-old friends were walking home on John Still Drive near Manorside Drive and Hemford Circle at about 8:30 p.m. when they were struck by a car, possibly a Nissan.

One victim, identified as Lavonia Ellis, was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Her friend, Rita Mohammed, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to family reports.

The police search for the driver and the car continues, and a $1,000 reward for information leading to the driver’s arrest has been established.

Hit-and-Run Accident Investigation

While authorities are in search for the hit-and-run motorist responsible for this incident, Lavonia Ellis and Rita Mohammed will have the right to pursue a personal injury claim against the defendant once located and detained.
