RIVERSIDE (April 23, 2019) – Authorities have identified Rigoberto Guzman, 30, as the bicyclist that was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday night, April 20th.
The bicyclist accident took place at approximately 11 p.m. at the intersection of Limonite Avenue and Van Buren Boulevard.
Guzman was riding northbound on Van Buren when he was hit by Andrew Scott Walters, 26.
Guzman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Walters fled the scene but was later located and detained by police. Walters was booked into the Robert Presley Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in death. He posted $75,000 bail and was released later in the day.

Authorities will hold the suspect responsible for fleeing the scene of the collision and failing to render any aid to the victim. Liability has been determined, therefore, the family members of Rigoberto Guzman will have the right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the defendant.
