LONG BEACH PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
In most instances, pedestrians possess the right-of-way when crossing an intersection or a street regardless if they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian or bicyclist, however, pedestrians must take extra caution and never assume that a motorist will stop. Authorities will continue to look further into this incident as it is likely that at least some liability will be assigned to the driver.
While liability is currently under investigation, the family of Ricky Gonzalez may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims are entitled to compensation for funeral expenses, pain and suffering, and loss of companionship.
LONG BEACH WRONGFUL DEATH LAWYER
“Pedestrian accident victims who sustain injuries at the expense of a negligent motorist are subject to a personal injury lawsuit, where they may receive compensation for damages. However, in cases where another motorist or entity’s negligence results in another person’s death, surviving family members are entitled to a wrongful death lawsuit following the loss of their loved one,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Sanchez-Gordon. “While no amount of money can replace a lost loved one, the importance of contacting and securing a wrongful death lawyer cannot be stressed enough. It is a wrongful death attorney’s duty to assist families whose lives have been suddenly impacted. Our goal is to help those affected to ultimately assist in establishing normalcy after an untimely death.”
