Man Killed by Collapsed Crane in Oxnard Construction Accident

Oscar Zuniga Ramos Dies Oxnard Construction AccidentOXNARD (April 16, 2019) – A 53-year-old carpenter from Palmdale was killed when a crane collapsed at a construction site in Oxnard on Thursday, April 11th.

Authorities have identified the victim of the incident to be Oscar Zuniga Ramos.

The Oxnard Fire Department and Ventura County Fire Department responded to a call at 1:42 p.m. at the site on the 3000 block of Camino Del Sol. A crane was lifting part of a wall when it collapsed, authorities told the Los Angeles Times.

Zuniga Ramos was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

OSHA Investigation and Liability

About 10-15 workers were working on a 6,000 square-foot building in an industrial business park between Rice and Del Norte avenues. The company, Gluck Building Company of Calabasas, could face sanctions as the California Division of Occupational Safety & Health Administration investigates.
