Five Injured Including 2 Children in Fiery Accident
ORANGEVALE, Ca. (April 18, 2019)
Five people, including two children, were injured Thursday in a two-car crash in Orangevale near Hazel and Central avenues.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials say the 7:30 p.m. crash between a minivan and an SUV left one vehicle in flames and on its side along a nearby fence.
One person was seriously injured. Four others sustained moderate injuries.
Officials confirmed that all of the victims were taken to local hospitals.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Fiery Crash Investigation
A forensic examination of both vehicles, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
