BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (April 18, 2019)
Police are searching for the driver of a green sedan that struck an elderly pedestrian in Oildale on Thursday night, April 18th, and fled the scene in a hit-and-run offense.
The California Highway Patrol says the pedestrian suffered moderate injuries in the hit-and-run accident, which happened at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Roberts Lane and Plymouth Avenue.
Police say the pedestrian was walking north on Roberts Lane when he was hit. The driver of the green sedan, described as a Latino man in his 40s, sped away.
CHP officers are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash and any and all leads to locate the hit-and-run driver.
Even if a driver flees the scene and no one caught a license plate number, injured victims in a hit-and-run accident may still seek recovery through a personal injury claim.
