LODI (April 18, 2019) – A 21-year-old mother died and four other people suffered injuries on Sunday afternoon, April 14th, in a head-on collision in Lodi.
The 21-year-old mother was in the front passenger seat of the Nissan traveling south on State Route 99 North Frontage Road at 1:45 p.m. when the wreck occurred. As the Nissan approached the Chrysler traveling north on the straight roadway, it veered into the northbound lane, striking the Chrysler head-on.
Four others suffered major to minor injuries. They include her 21-year-old husband of less than a month, who was driving, and their 1-year-old daughter in the back of their 2014 Nissan, and a man and woman — both 56 years old — in the other vehicle involved in the crash, a 2000 Chrysler.
The husband of the deceased woman suffered a fractured pelvic bone and broken leg, and the infant girl sustained a fractured arm.
Crash Investigation and Liability
While authorities have not disclosed which motorist will ultimately be held at-fault for this incident, the injured victims and the family suffering a loss may have a right to pursue a personal injury and wrongful death claim.
