Injured Woman Saved by Cyclist
NAPA (May 21, 2019) – A woman suffered major injuries after her car veered off a mountain road and crashed down a 450 foot cliff in Napa on Tuesday, May 21st.
The crash took place on an unspecified remote road. Fortunately, a cyclist witnessed the crash. He called 911 and climbed down the slope to reach the 20-year-old victim.
The injured victim in the crash has been identified as Karla Hernandez Zambrano.
A helicopter was required to lowered paramedics into the scene of the crash. First responders broke the car’s windshield and rescued Hernaandez Zambrano.
Authorities report that Karla Hernandez-Zambrano suffered major injuries but that she was in stable condition in the hospital.
According to officials, at this time it is unknown what caused the crash. An investigation will be conducted by authorities to determine what happened and why. Investigators will examine other factors like road conditions, safety guards, and whether or not there was a mechanical failure.
