Bicyclist Suffers Undergoes Emergency Brain Surgery Following Hit-and-Run
SACRAMENTO (April 28th, 2019)
bicyclist remains unconscious and fighting for his life after being involved in a hit-and-run crash with a vehicle on Saturday in Sacramento.
Sacramento police officials identified Francisco Rodriguez as the victim hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Alhambra Boulevard and T Street at approximately 2 a.m.
First responders arrived at the scene and located Rodriguez lying on the ground bleeding and unconscious. He was immediately rushed to UC Davis Medical Center and underwent emergency brain injury. Rodriguez had to have part of his skull removed to reduce swelling, according to officials.
Suspect Remains At-Large
Meanwhile, the driver involved who struck Rodriguez, failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene. The suspect currently remains at-large and on the run.
Police Authorities affirmed that no witnesses have come forward with information about the vehicle that hit Rodriguez at this time.
