Teen Boy, 18, and Teen Girl, 18, Identified
PLACERVILLE (February 27, 2019)- According to the California Highway Patrol, two teenagers were killed and a motorist was injured after a 2-car accident last week on Tuesday, February 21st.
CHP officials were made known of the collision at 6:05 a.m. on Highway 49.
Authorities have determined that the driver of a Toyota Camry, Gabriella Briceno, 18, of El Dorado, had been headed northbound before crossing over into southbound lanes hitting a Toyota Camry. A third vehicle was somehow also involved confirmed to have been a Honda Civic.
According to the the report, both Briceno and her passenger Ernesto Aguilar, 18, of Placerville, did not survive and were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver of Toyota Avalon Hospitalized
The driver of the Toyota Avalon also appeared to have sustained injuries to an unknown degree and was taken from the scene to a nearby hospital.
Slick roads from a rain shower the night before may have caused the teen to lose control, however, the collision is under investigation.
