Teen Girl, 18, and Woman, 20, Critically Injured in DUI Collision
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (April 16, 2019)
A head-on crash in Desert Hot Springs involving a Hyundai and Nissan left one man dead and three others injured on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
The victim, identified as 64-year-old Douglas Binninger, was riding as the passenger in a Hyundai being driven by 67-year-old Ingeborg Binninger when the crash occurred just before 2:30 P.M.
Binninger was driving north on Mountain View Road when she crossed over into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a Nissan being driven by an 18-year-old female. The driver of the Nissan and her 20-year-old female passenger were both critically injured and transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Douglas Binninger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Arrested for Suspicion of DUI Following Fatal Two-Car Crash in in Desert Hot Springs
Ingeborg Binninger, who also sustained serious injuries, was arrested on suspicion of DUI before being transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
According to the California Highway Patrol, all occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the deadly crash.

Authorities have arrested and will hold Ingeborg Binninger fully responsible after being confirmed to have been under the influence while operating a vehicle. With liability being determined, the both the 18 and 20-year-old injured women will be subject to a personal injury lawsuit, where they may seek compensation for medical bills and pain and suffering.
