CHICAGO, IL (July 9, 2019) – A 62-year-old woman was sadly killed in a hit-and-run crash on Monday night, July 8th on the city’s South Side.
Authorities have identified the victim as Carolina Villanueva.
The pedestrian accident took place around 9:30 p.m. Villanueva was walking along Chicago Boulevard, not far from South Presa Street, when she was suddenly hit by a white sedan traveling westbound.
The driver failed to stop following the collision, and fled the scene in a hit-and-run offense.
Paramedics arrived to the crash site and found Villanueva seriously injured. She was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center, where she later died.
Police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Authorities will hold the suspect responsible for fleeing the scene of the collision and failing to render any aid to the victim.
