Merced Woman Injured After Colliding with Tractor-Trailer on Highway 59

Motorcyclist Badly Injured in Melo Park Crash Tuesday on Highway 101MERCED (April 15, 2019) – A Merced woman driving a Nissan Altima was injured after colliding with a tractor-trailer on Highway 59 on Thursday night, April 11, 2019.

The driver of the Nissan, 45-year-old Candelaria Hernandez, was broadsided as she entered the highway just before 6:00 P.M. The tractor-trailer, being driven by 45-year-old Jushawn Davis of Gilroy, was traveling southbound on the highway when he crashed into the driver’s side of Hernandez’s car.

First responders arrived at the scene and transported Hernandez, who was unconscious, to a local hospital.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Davis was uninjured.
