Victorville Man, 21, Identified as Motorcycle Accident Victim
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 1, 2019)
According to the Victor Valley News, a 21-year-old man has been identified as the victim killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday morning just after midnight on Bear Valley Road.
Victorville police officials responded to the crash site which occurred at roughly 12:15 a.m. near Amethyst Road.
Driver of BMW Turns Into Path of Victorville Motorcyclist
Authorities have determined that the motorcyclist had been headed west on Bear Valley before the driver of a BMW turned into the path of the young man from a business center triggering the wreck ejecting the rider from his motorcycle.
The victim identified as Joshua Miner suffered grave injuries for which he was rushed to a local area trauma center for immediate attention. Shortly after his arrival, Miner sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:00 a.m.
Meanwhile, the driver of the BMW was uninjured and remained at the scene. He was cooperative with officials and not believed to have been under the influence.
Crash Investigation and Liability
While authorities will hold the driver of the BMW responsible responsible for failing to yield to the motorcyclist, the family of Joshua Miner will have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim against the defendant. Wrongful death family members are subject to compensation for funeral costs and loss of companionship.
