DUI Driver Kills 1 and Injures 2 Lyft Passengers in San Diego Car Accident

Giao Pham Killed DUI Car Crash San Diego 3/23San Diego (April 2, 2019) – Alondra Selena Marquez, 21, has been arrested for causing a fatal collision while driving under the influence, killing a male Lyft passenger and injuring two other men.

Marquez was driving her Lexus at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23rd, on SR-163 when she rear-ended the Lyft car, a Mazda sedan, killing one passenger and critically injuring two others.

Authorities have identified Giao Pham, 40, of San Francisco as the man that suffered fatal injuries in this tragic collision.

A passenger in the backseat of the Lyft, a 33-year-old-man from San Leandro, was ejected from the Lyft vehicle and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

The third injured Lyft passenger was transported to a local hospital with moderate to severe injuries.

Marquez was released from Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, arrested, and booked in Las Colinas Detention Facility on Wednesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Marquez had a 0.19% blood-alcohol concentration and was charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony DUI causing injury or death, and causing great bodily harm during the commission of a felony. According to authorities, she may face 13 years in prison with her bail set at $1 million.
