CUYAMA (April 8, 2019) – Two people in one vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene in a head-on collision on Sunday on State Route 166 outside of Santa Maria, 3 miles west of Rock Front Ranch.
Three people in the other vehicle involved in the crash had to be extricated from the wreckage. One sustained moderate injuries and the two others suffered severe injuries. They were transported to local hospitals by American Medical Response and the CalStar medical helicopter.
A Nissan Sedan an older Sedan were involved in the collision which took place just after 12:30 p.m. First responders arrived on scene and found both heavily damaged cars on the right shoulder of the eastbound lane.
After the investigation is completed by authorities, liability will be determined.
