Honda Civic Loses Control and Veers Head-on Into Tree
BOYLE HEIGHTS (April 5, 2019)
One person was killed and two other are in critical condition after a crash in the westbound Santa Monica Freeway transition to the southbound Golden State Freeway in Boyle Heights.
The accident took place at 11:30 p.m. and firefighters can be seen in a video from the scene looking at a Honda Civic that had crashed head-on into a tree on the side of the highway.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the two patients in critical condition had to be extricated from the mangled car.
None of the involved victims have been identified at this time.
The freeway was closed for about two hours after the accident.
