Damian Walter Identified as Hit-and-Run Victim
LA CONNER, WASHINGTON (April 2, 2019)
According to the Washington State Patrol, a man was killed following a pedestrian hit-and-run collision which took place Thursday morning, March 24th, at Indian and Snee Oosh roads.
At roughly 1:18 a.m., authorities responded to the collision where a male had been struck by sedan whose driver failed to stop and fled the scene.
The victim identified as Damian Walter did not survive the collision and tragedy died of his injuries, according to officials.
Meanwhile, authorities were able to track down the hit-and-run motorist. She has since been arrested and identified as Leslie Topaum, 44.
Hit-and-Run Collision Investigation
While authorities are in search for the hit-and-run motorist responsible for this tragedy, the family of Damian Walter will have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim against the defendant once located and detained. Wrongful death family members are subject to compensation for funeral costs and loss of companionship.
