A 45-year-old woman died in a car accident on Highway 4 in Brentwood after her vehicle went off the road.
Tina Jones was killed at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday when she went off the road in the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 in an area that does not have a guard rail. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stretch of Highway 4 Unsafe Road
“You can literally drive off the roadway, no problem,” California Highway Patrol Officer Brandon Correia said. “That’s what happened.”
In light of this event, it is clear that this portion of Highway 4 is an unsafe road, and appropriate measures should be taken to avoid future tragedies.
Police will conduct an investigate looking into the facts which may have caused the collision in an effort to determine liability, but this should not preclude an independent investigation by an attorney and/or expert witnesses for a comprehensive view of all contributing factors.
