Jason Char, 38, Identified as Victim
SIMI VALLEY (April 6, 2019)
Jason Allen Char has been identified as authorities as the man killed after his motorcycle was hit by a car on Saturday morning in Simi Valley.
Char, a Simi Valley resident, was 38.
Char was driving a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja at 10:30 a.m. when collided with a 2018 Toyota Corolla as he turned north on Texas Avenue, hitting the driver’s side door as the car turned left into the driveway of a home.
Char hit the pavement and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 60-year-old woman was driving the Corolla. She sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Authorities have yet to determine liability publicly as it remains unclear who which party will ultimately be held responsible. Meanwhile, the family of Jason Char will likely possess the right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit pending the conclusion of the investigation.
